How good are federal peraonal defense 40 acp low recoil 135 gr?

I put a rugar sr40 on lay away. From what I heard it has the lightest recoil for a 40 acp. Then I found the federal low recoil and I thought it might be good for a light recoil pistol. After I bought them 20 for $15 I thought 9mm have heavier bullets. I guess my question is are those any good or would they be the same as a 9mm?
