Why doesn't any expose the monopoly of .45 AFR rounds?

45 ACP Extreme Shock 125gr. Air Freedom Rounds (AFR). We all know and use them of course, because they provide good defense with zero penetration. Well, simply put, they don't work. I had to subdue a house intruder yesterday and used 12 rounds, 7 I visually confirmed as center mass hits. The man was STILL ALIVE. He would have probably lived for hours if I hadn't subdued him further. Totally unacceptable, what if I didn't have the upper hand in this situation? I cannot count on this ammo and neither should any of you.
