Handgun suggestions for my house?

i just moved out, and my girl wants me to get a handgun for the house. what should i get? i have been looking at a sub compact kel-tec .380, a baretta 92f (9mm), a 1911 (.45 acp) or a ruger sr9. what should i get? any other gun suggestions are welcomed. long guns too
