Defferance between 45/70 Gov't and 45.ACP?

in size and in accuracy between a 45/70 Gov't fired from a A BFR big frame revoler. The .45 ACP fired from the Colt M1911. in your opinion or if you've fired both or one which is better? Also can you have open carry in california for a Revoler?
